About Eric

I tricked myself into fitness in college by doing the common dude-thing of working out with my friends. When I figured out that it improved almost every aspect of my life, I got hooked.

Moving to Austin sealed the deal. Now, I coach strength and cycling classes for Pure Austin. My primary sports are endurance sports — triathlon, duathlon, cycling, running.  I’ve run a bunch of half marathons, duathlons, some triathlons, and some fun races and long rides.  I train for those events with a combination of CrossFit-style workouts, Olympic and Powerlifting, and of course sports-specific training.

At this point, you can only say I’m a fitness junkie, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Outside of the fitness realm, I’m a Security Architect for large-scale software systems, so I know what it takes to stay fit in real life and still be succesful at work.  Technology and innovation have driven many of my interests throughout life, so I’m very interested in how fitness and technology intersect.  I’m an avid snowboarder as well, traveling all over to get some fresh snow when I can.

  • Pure Cycle: Mondays, 6:00am, Pure Austin Quarry Lake.
  • Core Cycle: Sundays, 11:00am, Pure Austin Town Lake.
